An audio recording of former President Trump discussing a secret government document at his New Jersey club dealt the latest blow to his evolving and growing defenses against charges over his retention of classified information. The recording appeared to undercut a claim Trump made a week earlier, in which he suggested he may not have had a physical document he was showing to guests without security clearances. (The Hill) -- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute filed a $1 million suit this month against a cleaning firm after one of its janitor turned off a laboratory freezer, ruining years of research that “had the potential to be groundbreaking,” according to the suit.The janitor, the suit says, was annoyed by an alarm from the freezer and turned it off, causing the fragile cell structures inside to be damaged by temperature changes. New Haven-Berger firefighter dies in line of duty after serving for 59 years

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The New Haven-Berger Fire Protection District mourns the loss of one of its own. Firefighter Lloyd Ruediger recently died in the line of duty.Ruediger dedicated 59 years of his life to the New Haven community. He was 84 years old.Ruediger was a volunteer fire department. The fire district says he died Monday after responding to a house fire the evening before. He suffered a cardiac arrest. A Greeley teenager has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend about four weeks after the 15-year-old victim tried to end their relationship, authorities said Tuesday.Jovanni Sirio-Cardona, 16, faces multiple charges as an adult in connection with the June 16 shooting death of Lily Silva-Lopez, according to the Weld County District Attorney’s Office.Officers responded to a trailer home on a report of a shooting and found Silva-Lopez, who had been shot multiple times, a DA’s news release said. A University of Colorado Boulder professor filed a lawsuit Friday against the university and a dean of the law school for discrimination and retaliation.CU Boulder law professor Paul Campos alleges he was discriminated against with unequal pay because of his Latino ethnicity and punished for taking paternity leave as evidenced by a low annual review score.
